In 2020, we partnered with STARBUCKS® to jointly infuse glow-in-the-dark magic into coffee culture by launching a revolutionary glow-in-the-dark cup series. In complete darkness, exquisite glow patterns gradually appear on the cup surface and naturally restore in bright environments, adding a touch of mystery to the coffee experience.

The core reason Starbucks chose us: we achieved industry-leading waterproof performance for glow powder. After 18 months of R&D and over 200 tests, we solved the issue of material blackening during injection molding and significantly enhanced brightness by optimizing the glow powder microstructure. The fast light absorption feature also increased the playability of the glow cup.
Collaboration Story
Initial Contact
The Starbucks design team was looking for technology to add surprise elements to the 2020 limited edition product. They were attracted by our glow samples but expressed concerns about waterproof performance and food safety.
Technical Breakthrough
We formed a dedicated R&D team to tackle the waterproof performance of glow powder, food safety, and injection molding processes. After 6 months of effort, we developed new encapsulation technology and anti-black spot processes, ensuring the glow powder maintains over 95% luminous efficiency after 100 washes.
Sample Confirmation
We provided samples with 10 different pattern designs. The Starbucks team was very satisfied with the glow effect, waterproof test results, and food safety certification, especially loving the newly added fast light absorption feature. They ultimately chose the Starry Night Goddess and Coffee Bean Growth Cycle designs.
Product Launch
In September 2020, the Starbucks glow-in-the-dark cup was launched in selected stores worldwide and immediately became a social media sensation. The product sold over 100,000 units in the first week, setting a new record for Starbucks merchandise. Fans especially enjoyed the interactive feature of "writing" on the cup with a flashlight.
